Ubuntu 9.10 - Auto user login
The automatich user Login, which you can turn on in System -> System -> Logon Screen is not stable. I turned off my PC and in the morning an Error appeared. You have to go into the console-mode by pressing Strg+Alt+F1, restart your GDM by typing: sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart and then you have to give 655-privileges to the file mentioned in the error. After that your system should boot again.

Nokia 5800 + Ubuntu 9.10
Internet
I plugged in my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, than I klicked on the connectivity-Button on the left side of the clock. After that i choose to configure a new connection. Then I had to select my country, my provider and the connection I want and after that the Internet-Connection was configured!
FileSharing
When you plug in your 5800 you can choose between different modes. Choose the Filexchange-mode and a Window will dissapear where you can choose between the phone-storage and the Memory-Card-Storage.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth works also well with the Nokia 5800. Click on the bluetooth-icon, which is on the left side of the clock, and then select konfigure a new device. Than search for it, and share the Passwords für connection. After that your PC/Laptop is connected with the phone and you can click on the BT-icon an select browse Files on device.

Kein Sound bei ASUS P5G41-M LX
Wenn man versucht, unter Windows XP den Soundtreiber von ASUS für das P5G41-M LX zu installieren wird man keinen Erfolg haben. Man muss auf ein neu aufgesetztes System das SP2 installieren und dann den MS-Patch KB888111. Danach ist ein anstatt dem "PCI DEVICE" im Gerätemanager ein HD-Audio-Device verfügbar, für welches dann mit der mitgelieferten CD die Realtek-Treiber installiert werden können.
Danach kann auch das SP3 installiert werden. Ob es gleich mit dem SP3 auch funktioniert habe ich nicht probiert, da es mir der ASUS-Support so geraten hat und ich dann nur versuchshalber das SP3 installiert habe und es geklappt hat.
